Beauty Pageant winner: An enraged husband didn’t like his wife being denied a beauty pageant crown and flung the crown to the ground, breaking it into pieces.
This incident took place in Brazil.
According to the New York Post, which quoted local news outlet Globo, the unsavoury incident took place during the culmination of the Miss Gay Mato Grasso beauty pageant.

What happened?
There were two contestants in the finals – Nathally Becker from Cuiaba and Emanuelly Belini who was representing the city of Varzea Grande.Just as the Master of Ceremony was announcing Belini as the eventual winner, Nathaniel Becker’s husband stormed on the stage, grabbed the crown from the hands of the Master of Ceremony, and flung it to the ground.A few seconds later, he picked up the crown from the ground and threw it down again, breaking it into pieces.
The angry husband wasn’t over yet. He also grabbed the arm of his wife and attempted to take her away from the stage. However, the security intervened and the man was later ushered out.
The organizers later declared Emaanuelly Belini as the eventual winner.
“The pageant was fair”
This violent incident reminded many of the chaos in the October 2022 Sri Lanka beauty pageant held in NYC. It also resembled the unruly conditions in the 2022 Miss USA beauty pageant. In both cases, there were accusations of rigging the show.
These doubts were later cleared away by pageant coordinator Mike Haenisch. While releasing a statement on this unpleasant incident, Haenisch emphasized that the event was fair and there were no favourites. He also blamed Becker’s husband for the ugly incident.
The statement went on to note that the legal team has been informed and all necessary steps will be taken to punish the man.
