Take A Bath

One should not touch the Kanwars before taking a bath and getting oneself completely clean. As Kanwars are considered holy, touching it before cleaning oneself is impure.

No Non-Veg Food

It is advised that one should avoid eating Non-veg food in Sawan. Therefore, one who is taking part in the Kanwar Yatra must not eat Meat.

During the Kanwar Yatra, one should not think badly about others. The devotees should always have a positive and good thought.

Don't Keep Kanwar on the Ground

It is advised to the believers to not put the Holy Kanwars on the ground, as it is considered offensive to Lord Shiva. If for any reason you're leaving the Kanwar behind for some time, then you should keep it at a higher place.
