Race to Paris List

The BWF 'Race to Paris List' released on 30th April 2024 allocated 35 shuttlers per gender in the athlete Quota for the Singles events. A total of 48 pairs are allocated quota for the Doubles event.

Indian Badminton Players

7 Indian Shuttlers secured the Olympic Quota for the 4 different Badminton Categories in which there are two pairs and three singles players. Here are the names of the 5 Quota athletes.

1. HS Prannoy (Men's Single)

HS Prannoy secured the Quota for the Men's Singles event. He finished at the 9th spot on the list. Prannoy is a consistent player and has shown his top-class game many times. His current World Rank is 9th.

2. Lakshya Sen (Men's Single)

Commonwealth Gold Medalist, Lakshya Sen also secured the Quota for Men's Single event in the Olympics by standing at the 13th position. His performance has seen many Highs and Lows but he is a determined player.

3. Chirag Shetty & Satwiksairaj Rankireddy

This giant Men's Doubles pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy secured the Quota for the Olympics. They were the World Rank 1 for 12 consecutive weeks this year and have won several titles including Gold Medals at Commonwealth and Asian Games.

4. PV Sindhu (Women's Single)

Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu obtained the Quota by clinching the 12th spot on the 'Race to Paris List.' All the eyes will be on her glorious journey. She has won a Silver in Rio 2016 and a Bronze in Tokyo 2020.

5. Ashwini Ponnappa & Tanisha Crasto

Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto are comparatively a new pair but they also secured the Quota for Olympics 2024. They finished the list at the 13th spot. Their World Rank is 21 at the moment and World Tour Rank is 1.
