Announced Retirement

James Anderson on the 11th of May announced that he'll play his last game for England in July against West Indies. Yesterday, he concluded his 22-year-long journey.

Debut

Jimmy made his debut for England in 2002 and was often in and out of the squad till 2007. He performed massively against Pakistan in 2003 but couldn't maintain his momentum and got out of the squad.

Most wicket taking bowler

James Anderson is the Highest Wicket-taking Pace bowler in Test Cricket. He took 704 wickets in 188 matches, 350 innings.

700th Wicket Against ?

It is interesting to know that James took his career's 700th wicket in India and against India. The match was played in Dharamshala and the wicket was of Kuldeep Yadav.

Leading Wicket-taker in ODI

Anderson in June 2013 became the leading wicket-taker for England when he took his 235th wicket and crossed Darren Gough. He took retirement from ODI in 2015 with 269 wickets in his account.

He's taken the most wickets in a single ground for England, 145 at Lords. He's taken the most wickets caught by the wicket-keeper. He's played the second most matches in his career, 188 after Sachin Tendulkar, 200.

He's taken the most wickets in Test Cricket against India, 149 and then Australia, 117. Same in ODIs as well, he took 40 wickets against India and 38 against Australia.
