11 killed in fire at school for the blind in Central Uganda

A major accident occurred on Tuesday morning in a rural area of ​​central Uganda. 11 people, including children, have died in a fire in a school for blind children. A police officer gave this information on Tuesday. According to an AFP post, Ugandan police say that the cause of the fire is not yet known. Local police say a fire broke out at a school for blind children. Those injured in the accident have been admitted to the hospital.

Here, the outbreak of Ebola is increasing in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. 11 more cases have been registered on Somwara. On Sunday, 9 more people were found infected with the Ebola virus in the Kampala metropolitan area. Whereas, on Friday, two other people were found infected. Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng gave this information on Monday.

Ebola cases rising in Uganda

A World Health Organization official in Africa says that the Ebola outbreak in Uganda is increasing rapidly. Ugandan health officials have confirmed 75 cases of Ebola since September 20, including 28 deaths, 19 under treatment. The official numbers do not include those who live about 150 km west of Kampala. This farming community had died before the outbreak was confirmed.

It is believed that this death was also caused by Ebola. There is no proven vaccine for the Sudanese variant of Ebola that is spreading in Uganda. According to the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Ugandan authorities had confirmed the infection in more than 1,800 people who had come in contact with a person infected with the Ebola virus as of Thursday. Out of these 747 patients under treatment have completed 21 days period.
