26/11 terror attacks : Indian diaspora and members of other South Asian communities organised protests at various locations across the world on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, and denounced Pakistan for harbouring terrorist organisations. They urged world leaders to bring the Mumbai attack’s perpetrators to justice.
Protesters demanded that the terrorists affiliated with the Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) who carried out the 26/11 Mumbai attacks be prosecuted. At least 166 people were killed and 300 others were injured in 12 synchronised shooting and bombing assaults carried out by 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists (LeT) in 2008.

In London the Indian diaspora protested outside the Pakistan high commission against the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. People came from far off places to pay their tributes and share either an incident or just the grief and pain of those who were affected.
Bring perpetrators to books
High commissioner Vikram Doraiswami said, “We will continue to press for groups who plotted the act of terror to be brought to books. This cannot be left as an unfinished task.”
The high commissioner lost a friend to the terror attack. He said, “Efforts at the United Nations continue to seek sanction of the masterminds of that particular act of terror.” He also said that India has been striving to push for justice and bring to India the masterminds behind the attack who “remain protected and unpunished.”
One of the organisers of the protest, Gaurav Mahna, said justice has not been given to the families of hundreds of people killed in the terror attacks. “We want to create awareness about the perpetrators of 26/11 among the British and also ask Pakistan to give terrorists like Hafiz Saeed, Dawood Ibrahim and Lakhvi to India,” he said.
Return terrorists to India
The Indian diaspora was also joined by the former Mayor of Pakistan, now a human rights activist, Arif Aajakia. He said, “Masood Azhar of Jaish-e-Mohammad was freed from the Indian prison after an Indian aircraft was hijacked. He is a criminal in India and so are Dawood and Hafiz Saeed. They should be returned to India.”
As a mark of protest, a truck with digital images paying tribute to the victims and martyrs of the Mumbai terror attacks has been making rounds of the city of London.
