Humanity has stooped to its lowest state in Afghanistan. A shocking revelation has brought to light the horrendous predicament of the starving Afghans. The marauding Talibans have rendered the famished Afghans in a situation where they have no option left rather than sedating their hungry children, compelled to sell their daughters for mere survival. Such is their precarious condition, that they are destined to die for no fault of theirs. It was Biden’s one of those foolhardy measures that have caused colossal loss to the human race. Besides, the world at large has shown scant concern towards this appalling carnage – Will God forgive us for our shameless apathy?
In a shocking revelation to the world, the entire civilized society is now witnessing one of the most horrendous annihilations of mankind in Afghanistan. Can you believe that a mother is sedating his hungry child to sleep because she is unable to feed him? A poor father is compelled to sell his own daughter whom he loved more than anything – and just for mere survival, just for food. Will God forgive us for our shameless apathy – a question that should haunt every single individual across the globe?
It was one of Biden’s high-handed misadventures that led to such calamity
It was one of Biden’s most reckless and selfish misadventures that transferred the reigns of Afghanistan to the dreaded Talibans and the destiny of innocent Afghans was handed over to those blood-thirsty brutes. The brutes as expected have shown their real colours, killing scores of people, rampaging through educational institutions, depriving the weaker gender of all civic amenities, and sometimes savaging them as mere sex slaves. Such is their dread, that none can raise their voice of protest – otherwise get killed. But then why the United States raided the country twenty years back, stayed there with its military might while plundering its resources with absolute impunity and one fine morning left the country and its innocent citizens at the hands of prowling man-eaters?
The West led by the US have displayed biased humanitarian sustenance
Of course, the history of the 21st century will be etched by the inhuman annihilation of poverty-stricken Afghanis and today’s global powers would not be able to defend themselves for their abject lack of concern for mankind being butchered in one part of the world. Today, the West led by the US have expressed their solidarity for those being killed in Ukraine, and lent their proactive support by providing food, energy and to whatever possible extent they could, a gesture that should be commended for, but where is their humanity for Afghani people. Since this selective humanitarian sustenance carries geopolitical implications and advantages as well. Unfortunately, none has come forward to the rescue of Afghanistan because the poor country does not fall into any equation where one can score brownie points in global politics.

Terrible humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan
Afghanistan is on the brink of “a terrible humanitarian crisis and economic collapse”. It is now experiencing the worst humanitarian crisis of its contemporary history. Drought, Covid-19 and the economic sanctions imposed after the Taliban seized power in August 2021 have had disastrous consequences on the economy. Unprecedented rises in inflation have resulted in soaring food prices.
The Afghani people are compelled to sell their kidneys
The kidney trade has been growing in Afghanistan for some time. But since the Taliban took power, the price and conditions under which the illegal organ trade takes place have changed. The price of a kidney has dropped to an unfortunate low.
Half of the country’s population is starving
More than half of the country’s estimated 40 million population are facing “devastating levels of hunger and nearly 9 million of them are at risk of famine”. For a growing number of Afghans, selling a kidney and their daughters is their only way to get money to eat and survive.
The world should not be so merciless
The world should not be so pitiless and unrepentant. If the West can come forward for the citizens of Ukraine, it should also express the same kind of solidarity and concern for the distressed Afghani people where there is no ‘Zelensky’ to address their colossal pains. And superpowers like America and Russia should not enjoy the liberty to play with the lives of innocent civilians in a distraught countries like Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq.
