A chartered flight from Russia’s capital Moscow carrying 240 passengers to Goa has been diverted due to a bomb threat. The plane of the bomb rumor was diverted towards Uzbekistan in the early hours of Saturday. Police confirmed that a Goa-bound chartered flight was diverted to Uzbekistan on Saturday following a bomb threat. A senior police officer said that the plane was to land at Dabolim airport in South Goa at 4.15 am.
He said the aircraft was being operated by Azur Air with flight number AZV2463. It was diverted even before it entered Indian airspace. According to officials, “An email was received at 12.30 pm according to the director of Dabolim airport. In this, he was told about having a bomb in the plane. Two weeks before this, an aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at Jamnagar airport in Gujarat after receiving a bomb threat.”

Even two weeks before this, it was reported that there was a bomb in the Russian plane. In a statement, the Russian Embassy had said that it was alerted by the Indian authorities about reports of an alleged bomb on board an Azur Air flight from Moscow to Goa. Immediately thereafter, the aircraft was made an emergency landing at the Indian Air Force base in Jamnagar. All the passengers aboard this aircraft were safe. After investigation, it was found that there was no bomb in it.
