Critical Information published on Discord Server with 600 members
A person whose profile matched that of US Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira started publishing classified information about the Russian war effort in a previously secret chat room on the social media site Discord in February 2022. The group had about 600 members. The chat room was easily accessed because it was made publically available on a YouTube channel. This happened soon after the Ukrainian invasion. According to the reports, the Pentagon refuses to comment on this recently acquired material. Now, Teixeira has been accused of breaking the Espionage Act, illegally copying and sharing private defence information, and taking that information to an unapproved location. Legal professionals have predicted that he will probably be charged with other crimes.
