There was one confirmed death in Indiana’s Martin County. An emergency official said the deceased person’s partner had been airlifted to a hospital. Both lived in a log cabin which was destroyed in a storm.
Emergency Management Director Cameron Wolf said that much of the damage happened in the countryside. In an interview with PBS, Wolf said that “towns were not hit that hard by the storms.”
A CBS News affiliate said two people died in Arkansas on Sunday when a tree fell on their house due to storms. The affiliate was quoting the Lonoke County Sheriff’s office.

Bargersville is south of Indianapolis.
The NBC News affiliate also reported that shelters were being set up in Central Indiana for all those whose homes have been damaged by the storms.
