A tornado that arose on Friday in the southern and mid-western parts of America has caused massive destruction. Several homes and shopping centers were damaged in Arkansas, and a theater roof collapsed during a concert in Illinois. At least 21 people were killed and dozens more were injured by the tornado. Heavy damage has also been reported in Indiana.
Many US states badly affected
Indiana Disaster Management Director Jim Partley said Saturday that three people died in Sullivan County. The tornado damaged homes and several people are missing in Sullivan. One person was killed and two dozen were injured in the Little Rock area.
Many people died in Arkansas
There was also devastation in the Wynn area of northeast Arkansas. Officials have informed about the death of two people here. Many houses were destroyed and people were trapped in its debris.
The roof of the Apollo Theater in Belvidere, Illinois, collapsed Friday night, killing one person and injuring 28 others, officials said.
The chief of the Belvidere Fire Department said that 260 people were present at the venue at the time of the incident.
