Bangladesh Atrocities on Hindus: Minorities Protest on Streets, Say ‘Bangladeshi Hindu Lives Matter’

Minority Hindus in Bangladesh protest against ongoing atrocities, chanting 'Bangladeshi Hindu Lives Matter' on the streets of Dhaka.

Bangladesh Atrocities on Hindus: In Bangladesh, India’s neighboring country, Sheikh Hasina has resigned from her position. Following her resignation, an interim government led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus has been established, and efforts are being made to stabilize the situation. However, the targeted killings of minority groups, particularly Hindus, have not ceased, and reports of atrocities against Hindus are emerging from various parts of the country.

Protests by Bangladeshi Hindus

Today, a major protest was held in Bangladesh’s capital city of Dhaka, amid the continued crimes against the Hindu minority. Slogans such “Bangladeshi Hindu Life Matters” and “Please Save Bangladeshi Hindus” were used to describe the demonstration, expressing the community’s need for justice and safety. Compared to recent days, Dhaka’s streets seemed more tranquil as people turned their attention to returning to normal and boosting the nation’s economy. However, due to certain disruptive individuals, violent occurrences against the minority community—Hindus in particular—continue to make headlines.

Targeted Killings of Minorities

Minority communities in Bangladesh, particularly Hindus, have experienced an upsurge in violence since the administration changed. Attacks and assaults on the Hindu minority have resulted from protesters’ anger towards Sheikh Hasina’s government. Temples have been attacked and damaged, and other Hindu-owned businesses have also been targeted. The interim administration has urged people to work towards peace and defend the safety and rights of minority communities in spite of these alarming developments.
