- Nearly 2,300 delegates attending the once every five years Communist Party conference in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People, where Xi Jinping is expected to be elected to a third term, greeted him with loud ovation as he entered the stage.
- At Beijing’s Great Hall of the People, Xi told Communist Party delegates that “the situation in Hong Kong has accomplished a fundamental shift from disorder to governance” and vowed a “great war against separatism and interference” in the autonomous island of Taiwan.
