China Knife Attack: China In a horrifying incident in Lianjiang county of China’s south-eastern province of Guangdong six people were killed by a knife attacker. The incident happened at a Kindergarten in Lianjiang county where a 25-year-old wreaked havoc by killing one teacher, two parents and three students. The attack has left one person injured in its wake. The perpetrator of the attack has been arrested by the police authorities.
‘Intentional assault‘
The police authorities in Guangdong province have termed as a ‘intentional assault’ carried out by the 25-year old perpetrator. On Monday, the man started his rampage around 7:40 am local time. About 20 minutes after the incident police were able to arrest the knife attacker. After the incident the area around Kindergarten has been sealed off. The attack has caused widespread discussions at Chinese social media platforms.
Knife attacks in China
China with its strict public regulation has a general reputation of crime control and very few violent attacks. The knife attacks in China have been rising in the past few years and has increasingly brought attention of a wide array of observers.
In August 2022, three people were killed and six were left injured after an attacker rushed into a kindergarten in Jiangxi province.
In Guanxi Autonomous Region two children died while 16 others were injured after a mass stabbing at Beiliu City in April 2021.
