Colombia: In a first for the globe, members of Colombia’s Congress are now permitted to bring their pets to work. For one senator, wild horses couldn’t have kept him from celebrating the implementation of the new regulation.

Alirio Barrera arrived at the office on his white horse.
In order to convey the value of horses for the Colombian countryside, he first rode through the nation’s capital, Bogota, before mounting his horse and entering the chambers of Congress.

Last week, the new rule was revealed by Senate President Roy Barreras while his dog was curled up on his lap. According to him, this makes the Colombian Congress “the first pet-friendly Congress in the world.”
