His message came at a crucial time when the Hindu minority in Bangladesh is facing significant challenges. Trump addressed the suffering of Hindus in Bangladesh and criticised the current administration’s handling of their plight.
Donald Trump’s Message on Diwali 2024
In a post on X, Donald Trump expressed his solidarity with Hindus worldwide. He condemned the violence faced by Hindus, Christians, and other minorities in Bangladesh. He stated, “I strongly condemn the barbaric violence against Hindus, Christians, and other minorities who are getting attacked and looted by mobs in Bangladesh.”
Following the political unrest in Bangladesh, minority Hindus have become victims of violence. On August 5, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled the country amid protests. Since then, Hindus have faced attacks, vandalism, and threats. The Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance reported over 200 incidents targeting the community across 48 districts.
Criticism of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden
Trump also criticised Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden for ignoring the struggles of Hindus. He claimed, “They have been a disaster from Israel to Ukraine to our own Southern Border.” He urged the Hindu community to consider the impact of their policies on small businesses and the economy.
Trump promised to protect Hindu Americans from what he called the “anti-religion agenda of the radical left.” He pledged to strengthen partnerships with India and Prime Minister Modi. He stated, “We will fight for your freedom.” Trump assured his followers that his administration would create a stronger economy by cutting taxes and regulations.
A Message of Hope for Diwali
In closing, Trump sent his wishes for a joyous Diwali. He said, “Happy Diwali to All. I hope the Festival of Lights leads to the Victory of Good over Evil!” His message resonated with many, highlighting the importance of unity and strength during difficult times.
