Elon Musk: The newly appointed CEO of Twitter, hinted at yet another significant change to the regulations on Monday, stressing that they will “develop over time” in the wake of the company’s $44 billion acquisition and subsequent layoffs of half of the 7,500 employees of the microblogging site.
“Twitter rules will evolve over time, but they’re currently the following,” Musk wrote.
Twitter’s handling of abusive behaviour and objectionable content on the network has drawn criticism in the past, which prompted the firm to modify its policies.
By writing, “”Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended,” Musk earlier made it clear what he thought of impersonators.
Violence, harassment, and other similar behaviours prevent people from expressing themselves and ultimately reduce the value of public discourse globally, according to Twitter’s rules page. With the new guidelines, the firm wants to guarantee that everyone may take part in group talks in safety and without restriction.
