BBC: After a sexual audio clip disrupted their FA Cup telecast on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, the BBC apologised. During the Liverpool vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers game, broadcaster Gary Lineker was asking fellow commentator Alan Shearer for his thoughts when a loud recording of a woman moaning was played. Former England striker Lineker laughed and remarked, "I don't know who's producing that noise." During the live broadcast, he added. "On someone's phone, I believe, someone is delivering something. I'm not sure if you heard it at home.”

Later, he claimed on Twitter that a phone had been prankedily taped to the back of the studio set. Lineker uploaded a photo of the phone and remarked, "As sabotage goes, it was very amusing." The British broadcaster apologised after the video gained popularity on social media and stated, "We apologies to any viewers who were upset during this evening's live football coverage. We are looking into how this happened."
