G20 Summit: Joe Biden, the president of the United States, tweeted on Thursday about his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Indonesian colleague Joko Widodo at the G-20 conference in Bali, saying that the alliance is still showing strength despite problems around the world.
After meeting on Tuesday to discuss the strategic collaboration between the two countries, notably in fields like crucial and emerging technologies and artificial intelligence, Biden praised Modi two days later.
Biden’s tweet
In a tweet on Thursday, Biden stated, “I met with Prime Minister Modi of India and President Widodo of Indonesia to reaffirm our commitment to the G20 as the preeminent forum for global economic cooperation.
He continued, “In the face of global challenges, our coalition continues to demonstrate strength.”
A picture of the encounter between Biden and Modi and Widodo outside the G-20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, was also shared by Biden.
Biden’s meeting with the two leaders was described in a US readout of the meeting as, “to reaffirm their shared commitment to the G20 as the premier forum for international economic cooperation.”
It said, “Facing significant global challenges, the leaders discussed how the G20 continues to demonstrate its collective capacity to bring together major economies to advance sustainable and inclusive growth in our economies and beyond, tackle the ongoing climate, energy, and food crises, strengthen global health architecture and promote technological transformation.”
The statement further added, “He (Biden) looks forward to continuing to support the G20’s work under India’s Presidency.”

Modi-Biden encounter as a “productive exchange.”
According to the readout, Biden praised Indonesia’s G20 Presidency and expressed his eagerness to support the G20’s work during India’s Presidency. Arindam Bagchi, a spokesman for the MEA, described the Modi-Biden encounter as a “productive exchange.”
While on a side trip to a mangrove forest in Bali for the G20 meeting, PM Modi could be seen saying hello to his US counterpart, and Joe Biden reciprocated by saluting him.
India’s G-20 presidency, according to Prime Minister Modi, would be inclusive, ambitious, definite, and action-oriented. He also noted that India is taking the lead at a time when the globe is dealing with geopolitical unrest, a slowing economy, and rising food and energy prices.
After their initial encounter on the sidelines of the G20 summit, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also uploaded a photo of himself with Prime Minister Modi.

“Ek mazboot dosti,” Sunak tweets
Surprisingly, Sunak decided to caption the picture in Hindi: “Ek mazboot dosti,” “United by friendship,” Sunak then tweeted something in Hindi.
It was the first time the two leaders had spoken since the leader of Indian descent took office as the British prime minister around three weeks ago.
