G20 Summit: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unexpectedly visited the G20 Secretariat at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan and spoke with the officers who had been in charge of the summit in New Delhi. He also expressed gratitude to the officials for their “hard work” in making the G20 Summit a success.
The Prime Minister interacted with officers at all levels, including Ministry of External Affairs officers, and inquired about their G20 experiences.

Amitabh Kant, the G20 Sherpa for India, and Chief Coordinator Harsh Shringla oversaw the deployment of 114 top officers from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for G20 duty. Additionally, 140 young officers from all services were initiated in August to help with summit planning.
Senior MEA officials were crucial in negotiating with different member states to come to an agreement on the common communique.
September 9–10 saw the G20 Leaders Summit in New Delhi, which was hosted by India. A historic victory for India’s presidency, the Member nations adopted the New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration in which agreement was reached on all topics, including the contentious Russia-Ukraine problem.
The outcome of nonstop negotiations lasting more than 200 hours, 300 bilateral meetings, and 15 draughts, the success was achieved.
Amitabh Kant asserts that the creation of a comprehensive draught document was made possible by members of his team, including senior MEA officials Abhay Thakur, Nagaraj Naidu, Ashish Sinha, and Eenam Gambhir.
