Germany: According to the Guardian, a 72-year-old German woman was jailed after reportedly turning off her roommate’s ventilator in hospital because the machine’s noise irritated her.

The ventilator was turned off twice
According to reports, the lady turned off the ventilator twice. On November 29 evening, the incident occurred in the south-western city of Mannheim.
Following the incident, the 72-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted manslaughter.
According to prosecutors and police, the woman allegedly turned off a woman’s ventilator and then turned its back on later in the day after being told that the machine was critical for the patient.

Suspect has been sent to jail
The woman is not in danger, but she still needs urgent care, according to authorities. “The patient had to be revived,” hospital officials noted.
On Wednesday, the suspect was summoned before a magistrate and taken to jail.
