Google’s co-founder, Sergey Brin, has quietly concluded his divorce from Nicole Shanahan amid allegations of her involvement with billionaire Elon Musk, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The divorce was signed off by a judge on May 26 of this year. Brin had initially filed for divorce in January of the previous year, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ after a three-year-long marriage.
Brin and Shanahan first met at a yoga retreat in 2015 and tied the knot on November 11, 2018, according to court documents. Shortly after their marriage, they became parents to a girl. The couple will share legal and physical custody of their four-year-old daughter, while details regarding spousal support, lawyer fees, and asset division were settled through confidential arbitration.
The alleged affair dates back to 2021
The divorce was reportedly prompted by allegations of an affair between Nicole Shanahan and Elon Musk, who had been friends with Sergey Brin for years. The alleged affair dates back to 2021, and Elon Musk had refuted rumors of his involvement with Brin’s ex-wife on his social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter).
Sergey Brin had previously been married to Anne Wojcicki, the co-founder of 23andMe, for eight years. One of Brin’s attorneys expressed concerns about the potential risks associated with the disclosure of confidential information regarding the couple’s minor child.
