Imran Khan: Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, is heard begging the senior official to sell her husband’s wristwatches in a new audio tape that was leaked on Thursday.
Bushra Bibi and top PTI official Zulfi Bukhari spoke on the phone for 21 seconds, which reignited the debate over Imran Khan’s sale of his “toshkhana,” or state depository gifts.
“There are a few (watches) of Khan sahib who wants them to be delivered to you so you could sell them. These watches are not in his use so he wants them to be sold off,” Bushra Bibi is heard telling Bukhari over the phone.
“Sure, murshid. I will do it.” Zulfi responds in complete agreement as the conversation comes to a close.

The new exchange was part of a string of audio recordings that included PTI and PML-N leaders having private discussions that were never intended for public listening, according to a story in Dawn.
Later, after angrily reacting to the audio, Zulfi ordered a forensic examination of the audio clip, claiming that he had neither sold nor purchased a watch. He continued, “I am prepared to pay for it (the audit).

What got Imran Khan into trouble?
Imran Khan got involved in a scandal after selling a pricey luxury watch worth millions of dollars that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had given to the former prime minister of Pakistan.
Khan acknowledged selling at least four gifts he got as prime minister in a written response he provided to Pakistan’s Election Commission.
He insisted that after paying Rs 21.5 million, he sold the presents he had obtained from the public treasury. According to reports, the gifts included a diamond ring, four Rolex watches, an expensive pen, a pair of cufflinks, and an expensive timepiece.
Pakistani law mandates that any gift from foreign dignitaries be deposited in the state repository or the Toshakhana for appraisal.
Any gift received by a public official must be recorded right away so that its worth can be determined.
Because of the scandal, Khan was barred from running for office after being accused of making “false assertions and erroneous declarations.”
