In an incident which has shocked conservative Islam, a women employee of Construction Company flung away her scarf during Board of Directors elections in Tehran. She was barred from contesting the Board of Directors for not wearing mandatory hijab.

She then came upon the stage and made a short statement,
“I don’t recognize the assembly that doesn’t allow candidates to run because they don’t wear a headscarf.”
The participants of the event cheered for her when she threw away her scarf before leaving the stage.
Video was shared by prominent anti-regime activist Masih Alinejad, who has been a target of many assassination attempts in the past.
Alinejad said,
“This is what bravery looks like,”
Video has been mass shared worldover, users have said Government cannot force hijab on women anymore and the conditions have changed since nationwide uprising.
Iranian Women leading Public Protests
Iran has been a conservative theocratic sate since 1979, when Islamic Revolution swept the country. However women in Iran have come forward and are the leading lights of demonstration demanding fundamental economic, social and political reforms in the country.
A large number of women in Iran, which includes celebrities have appeared in public without head scarves.
Authorities in Iran have come down hard on the protest movement.
