IND vs AUS: Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The two leaders were there to witness the fourth Test match between India and Australia. President of the BCCI Roger Binny and Secretary Jay Shah presented congratulations to the two Prime Ministers.
Australian and Indian leaders show support for athletes at cricket match
PM Modi and his colleague Anthony Albanese joined the athletes for the national anthems on the field following a lap of honour around the stadium. Steve Smith, the captain of Australia, won the toss and decided to bowl first. The visitors scored 75/2 at lunch on Day 1. Following the start of the live action, both PMs left the location shortly after, and Albanese snapped a selfie with PM Modi as he commemorated 75 years of friendship between the two countries through cricket. Along with a photo of himself and the Indian Prime Minister performing a lap of honour at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Albanese also tweeted that the two countries had a strong but cordial rivalry.

Cricket unites Australia and India on 75th anniversary of friendship
“As two cricket-loving nations, Australia and India share a fierce but friendly rivalry. At the heart of this contest is genuine respect, reflecting the affection and friendship between our peoples,” wrote the Australian PM. And for the game itself, Australian starters Travis Head and Usman Khawaja gave the guests a reliable start. Before Ravichandran Ashwin gave India a much-needed breakthrough, they put together an opening stand of 61 runs. Head, who had scored 32 runs and was in excellent form, was removed by him. Soon after, Marnus Labuschagne was bowled by veteran pacer Mohammed Shami, giving his team another critical wicket.
