India has made heavy deployment of tank regiments and troops for counter-attack the setback by the People Liberation Army (PLA).
Earlier China has deployed almost 17,000 troops and armored vehicles in Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) and Despang Plains.
India made its deployment from the Patrolling Point 1 in Karakoram Pass to the Depsang Plains. China has amassed almost 17,000 troops since the month of April. They have been blocking Indian patrols from PP 10 to PP 13, according to a source as quoted by Economic Times.
“We have done a very heavy deployment of troops and tanks in the DBO and Despang Plains area including the T-90 regiments which are part of an armored division. The Chinese would find it difficult to operate if they try out any misadventure,” government sources told ANI.
India is a step ahead of China
India placed more than 15,000 troops and several tanks for countering Chinese ambition. Chinese intended to build a road from the TWD battalion headquarter opposite of the DBO sector to Karakoram pass region in order to connect the Chinese battalion in that region.
The road connectivity was succeeding on Chinese plans since the Doklam, but China failed every time they tried. It would help the Chinese units to overcome the 15-hour driving time through the Highway G219 in their territory. Apart from this Chinese also built a small bridge inside the Indian territory near PP-7 and PP-8, Indian soldiers broked the bridge a year ago.
Currently, India and China are engaged in dialogue focusing on the disengagement from the Finger areas and other frictional points in Depsang Plains along with DBO areas. The entire area maintained by the mountain brigade and an armored brigade before the Chinese started their road construction work opposite of the DBO and Depsang area.
“At present, we are in a position of strength in the Depsang Plains and DPO area now and we are not in a hurry to discuss that with the Chinese. Let the disengagement first take place and then we can talk about de-escalation there too,” a source said as quoted on Economic Times.
As of now China ended honoring their commitment after the disengagement in the Finger areas and they want now they want to build an observation post at Finger 5.
