In the year 2023, India is going to chair the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Apart from this, G20 is also going to be organized in India this year. The 22nd Summit of the Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be held virtually on 4 July 2023. PM Modi is going to preside over this event.
Prior to this event, India inaugurated the ‘New Delhi Hall’ at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat in Beijing, the capital of China. Expressing happiness over the inauguration of the hall, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that this hall reflects ‘Mini India’.
‘New Delhi Hall’ opened in Beijing
Apart from India, the membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization includes Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Halls from the six founding members of the body China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are already present in Beijing.
It will reflect the Mini: S Jaishankar
“I am delighted to inaugurate the New Delhi Hall at the SCO Secretariat today in the presence of the SCO Secretary-General and other distinguished colleagues,” S Jaishankar said in his video address.
He said, “The hall has been designed with exquisite patterns and motifs to give a feel of the depth of India’s artistic tradition and cultural identity, reflecting the rich architectural skills found across India.He said that the hall has been fitted with modern technologies to facilitate meetings in both physical and virtual formats along with traditional design.
