United States: Indian-Americans strongly condemned the pro-Khalistani protesters who vandalised the Indian Embassy in San Francisco on Sunday and urged that they be held accountable right away. As a few radicalised separatists attacked India’s diplomatic offices in SFO and London, the Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS) released a statement. The statement came after pro-Khalistani demonstrators attacked the Indian Consulate in San Francisco.
Placed two ‘Khalistani flags’ inside the Consulate’s grounds
The demonstrators demolished the temporary security barricades put up by the local police while shouting pro-Khalistan slogans, and they placed two ‘Khalistani flags’ inside the Consulate’s grounds. Soon after, two consular employees took down these banners.
Bhutoria pleaded with local officials in a statement to take swift action
Ajay Bhutoria, a prominent member of the community, vehemently denounced the pro-Khalistan demonstrators’ assault on the Indian Consulate building in San Francisco. In addition to endangering the diplomatic ties between the United States and India, he warned that the community’s peace and harmony were also under attack. Bhutoria pleaded with local officials in a statement to take swift action and prosecute those involved for this attack. He continued, “I also urge on all members of our community to come together and advance peace and harmony.
