Israel Palestine Conflict: The Israeli government and Shani Louk’s family have announced that the German woman, who was abducted by Hamas on October 7, passed away. Her body was discovered in Gaza by Israeli troops. “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of my sister,” her sister Adi Louk said on social media.
Abduction During Supernova Music Festival
The 23-year-old was kidnapped while attending the Supernova music festival, which was one of the targets of an unexpected October 7 Hamas strike, close to the Gaza border. Following her disappearance, Shani Louk’s mother Ricarda Louk made a social media plea to the governments of Germany and Israel pleading for her return.
Unique Tattoos Helped to Recognise
“We were sent a video in which I could clearly see our daughter unconscious in the car with the Palestinians and them driving around the Gaza Strip,” Ricarda had said in the video. After being apprehended, the 23-year-old was taken in a pick-up truck and paraded around nude. In videos that surfaced shortly after the terror attacks, Shani is seen in a pickup truck, face down. According to her family, Shani’s dreadlocks and unique tattoos helped them recognise her.
