Israel Palestine Conflict: The Israeli military has announced an expansion of its ground operations in Gaza as the ongoing conflict with Hamas escalates. This expansion marks a significant increase in the scope of the Israeli incursion, surpassing previous raids in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. According to Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, an Israeli military spokesman, the decision to intensify these ground operations follows the inability to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas.

Israeli fighter jets have been targeting tunnels dug by Hamas and other critical infrastructure. At the same time, Hagari has urged Palestinians to move toward southern Gaza as Israel widens its ground offensive, particularly in the northern areas of the coastal enclave.
Hamas, in response, has vowed to counter Israeli attacks with full force. The armed wing of Hamas reported clashes between its fighters and Israeli soldiers in Gaza’s northeastern town of Beit Hanoun and the central area of Al-Bureij.
The escalation in hostilities has also led to widespread disruptions, with internet and phone services in Gaza experiencing outages. As a result, approximately 2.3 million people in the region are cut off from both the outside world and one another.
