Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades’ Ominous Vow
Israel’s military wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, has pledged to convert Gaza into a “graveyard” for Israeli soldiers. Israel’s “inhumane targeting of a residential block” has drawn severe criticism from Egypt, which also declared that it will open the Rafah border crossing to allow injured Palestinians to receive medical care. International calls for a stop to the bloodshed and an escalating humanitarian situation in Gaza coincided with the airstrikes. Only hours before the attack, the health ministry had reported 8,525 deaths, including 2,187 women and 3,542 children. Israel‘s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vehemently rejected any possibility for a truce in spite of the growing death toll, stating that such requests amounted to “a call for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terrorism, to surrender to barbarism”.

The Israeli army destroyed Hamas commander Saleh al-Aruri’s house on Tuesday. During the demolition, Israel alleged that its forces entered the village of Arura, which is close to Ramallah, and started shooting at people who were “hurling” rocks at them.
