Israel Palestine Conflict: Tragedy Unfolds in Gaza! Hospital Explosion Claims 500 Lives, Blame Game Begins

Israel Palestine Conflict

Israel Palestine Conflict: In a devastating explosion that occurred at a hospital in Gaza City on Tuesday night, at least 500 people—many of them women and children—were killed. While the Israeli Defence Force said that a rocket fired by a Palestinian terrorist organisation accidentally hit the hospital, Hamas claimed that an Israeli airstrike was to blame for the explosion. The assault took place just before US Vice President Joe Biden travelled to Tel Aviv to show support for Israel.

President Biden’s Urgent Visit

Following the explosion at a hospital in Gaza that left at least 500 people dead, Biden will arrive in Israel today as the war scenario is getting worse. Biden will “reaffirm solidarity” with Israel during his visit during a time of war. In the meantime, the Jordanian government called off a regional summit due to the attack on the Gaza hospital.

Diplomatic Response to Gaza Hospital Attack

The US President spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the plane to Tel Aviv, and the White House has confirmed that he also received a briefing from his national security staff “following reports of the terrible loss of life” in the hospital incident. In response to the hospital attack, Jordan’s foreign minister announced the cancellation of a regional summit with Biden, set for Wednesday in Amman. The US president was scheduled to meet with King Abdullah II of Jordan, Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine, and Abdel Fattah el-Sissi of Egypt.

Deadly Explosion Sparks Blame Game and Biden’s Outrage

At least 500 people were killed and several others were injured when the Gaza City hospital was bombed on Tuesday night. Tel Aviv blamed a Palestinian terrorist organisation for the explosion, but Hamas claimed that an Israeli airstrike was to blame. In response to the strike on the Gaza hospital, Biden expressed his “outrage” and asked investigators from his nation to look into the matter.
