Jim Crown, philanthropist and board member of JPMorgan Chase has died in a car crash in Colorado.
The Colorado Sun reported that Crown died after his vehicle collided with a barrier at Aspen Motorsports Park in Woody Creek. He was 70.
While the autopsy remains pending, the coroner is sure that the death was due to “multiple blunt force trauma” he sustained during the accident.
CNN reports that Crown was a board member of JP Morgan Chase since 1999. He was also on the board of General Dynamics. Crown who lived in Chicago, was the Managing Director of Aspen Skiing Co.
“Deepest condolences”
Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase expressed his condolences at the death of Jim Crown. Speaking to CNN, he said, “We extend our deepest condolences to Jim’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.” Dimon added, “Our thoughts are also with all of you who knew and loved Jim, as much as I did. He was an integral part of JPMorgan Chase and our lives, and his presence will be deeply missed.”
The CEO of US banking giant JPMorgan Chase also said Crown “has been a trusted advisor to me for nearly 20 years.”
“Fierce advocate”
Jim Crown’s death was also mourned by the US Ski and Snowboard Team. It condoled his death by saying Jim Crown was a fierce advocate of sports.
“We are greatly saddened to hear of the passing of Jim Crown. He was a passionate leader in the industry and a fierce advocate for our sports. Jim made a positive, long-lasting impact and will be missed. Our thoughts are with his family, community and partners at Aspen Skiing Co.”
According to Wall Street Journal, Jim Crown is survived by “his parents, Lester and Renée Crown, his wife of 38 years, Paula, four children and two grandchildren.”
