Joe Biden :President Joe Biden fell down on Thursday, June 1 while walking off a stage in Colorado Springs, United States. He was handing over diplomas to graduating students in an Air Force facility.
India Today World reports that Biden wasn’t injured in that accident. The president later told the reporters that he got “sandbagged” and was fit. “I got sandbagged”, reported India Today while quoting ABC News.
Biden also did some footwork in front of the press to show that he was fit.
According to eyewitnesses, the president fell down because a badly placed sandbag caught his foot.
Trump reacts
Biden’s principal opponent Donald Trump took to the media immediately while reacting to Biden’s fall.
“He actually fell down? Well, I hope he wasn’t hurt,” Trump said. “The whole thing is crazy. You’ve got to be careful about that… even if you have to tiptoe down the ramp.”
“That’s a bad place to fall… that’s not inspiring,” said the ex-President, according to Fox News.
Biden is 80 and running for his second term. Should he win the 2024 White House elections again, Joe Biden would be 85 when he demits office.
Many falls
As president, Biden has tripped and fallen down several times. His most recent fall was during the G-7 summit in Japan in May 2023.
Biden also tripped and fell down while climbing the steps of Air Force One after wrapping up a trip to Poland.
In March 2021, President Joe Biden lost his balance on the steps of the presidential plane while leaving for Georgia. White House officials later said that it was a gust of wind that caught him off-balance.
As the United States battles an impending slowdown of the economy, the world would be closely looking at President Biden’s fitness.
