Joe Biden: According to a senior official, US President Joe Biden is in favour of making Japan, Germany, and India permanent members of the UN Security Council. However, the officer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, noted that there is still plenty to be done.
The official responded to a question with, “We have traditionally and still support the notion that Germany, Japan and India should be permanent members of the Security Council.
In his speech to the UNGA on Wednesday, President Biden emphasized the need to change the UN Security Council, the body with the highest authority inside the organization. He claimed that this council must be more inclusive in order to meet the demands of the modern world.
To maintain the UN Security Council’s credibility and effectiveness, he said, members, including the US, should constantly honour and defend the UN Charter and abstain from using the veto, save in exceptional and unusual circumstances.
“Also for this reason, the United States is in favour of adding more permanent and non-permanent members to the Council. Permanent seats for those countries that we have long supported are included in this “added Biden.

There are fifteen people who make up the security council. China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States are the only permanent members with veto power.
The organization is in charge of preserving world peace.
All other members of the United States are required to abide by the group’s decision.
