King Charles III: At a multireligious coronation ceremony held at Westminster Abbey, King Charles III was formally installed as the ruler of Britain. At 74, he also became the oldest British monarch to wear the 360-year-old St. Edward’s Crown while seated on a 14th-century throne in London’s Westminster Abbey.

About 100 heads of state and dignitaries, including US first lady Jill Biden, watched as Charles was crowned at the abbey, which has hosted all of the nation’s coronations since William the Conqueror back in 1066.
