Lebanon Travel Advisory: The Indian Embassy in Lebanon has issued a fresh travel advisory, strongly advising Indian nationals to leave the country due to escalating tensions following recent high-profile assassinations. This latest advisory, released on Thursday, follows the deaths of key Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, which have intensified the risk of regional conflict.
Indian Embassy Urges Nationals to Leave Lebanon Amid Rising Tensions
The advisory highlights a significant increase in threats, prompting a warning against all non-essential travel to Lebanon. The Embassy had previously advised avoiding non-essential travel but did not initially call for an evacuation. This is the third advisory issued by the Embassy within 48 hours.
Indian nationals currently in Lebanon are urged to exercise extreme caution, limit their movements, and maintain communication with the Embassy through their email (cons.beirut@mea.gov.in) or emergency phone number (+96176860128).
The advisory comes in the wake of Israel’s suspected assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran and Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut. This aggressive action by Israel is seen as an attempt to escalate its conflict with Iran and its allies, potentially destabilizing the region further.
