Lionel Messi vowed to leave the team if PSG acquired Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.

Lionel Messi advised against the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) who is allegedly interested in acquiring Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester. The Argentine allegedly threatened to quit PSG if the team eventually signed Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo is once more making headlines as he looks to join a new team. Despite having only recently joined Manchester United, the Portuguese player is looking for a new endeavour that would enable him to compete for important championships. While Ronaldo continues his hunt, Lionel Messi is making sure that Paris Saint-Germain won’t be Ronaldo’s new team.

In the past, Ronaldo has been associated with PSG. However, compared to what the French powerhouses have been suggesting, the 37-year-old has always wanted a different idea for himself. Although there isn’t a clear connection between Ronaldo and PSG this season, Messi might have had a hand in keeping PSG away from Ronaldo.
According to a story in El Nacional, Messi threatened to quit PSG if they acquired Ronaldo from Manchester United.

There is no disputing that football fans around the world would want to watch Messi and Ronaldo play together, but the Argentine isn’t looking forward to it.
Neymar Jr.’s anticipated departure from PSG this summer means that the team will be without a front-three player. Ronaldo theoretically is the ideal candidate for PSG because he can play both as a No. 9 and on the left side, but Messi appears to have his reasons for opposing the move.

Jorge Mendes, the agent for Ronaldo, has been courting Chelsea and Bayern Munich on behalf of his client. As of yet, there are no reports of such discussions between PSG and Mendes.
Ronaldo perhaps moving to Paris would be a positive sporting development for the club and might help it advance in stature. Everything from sponsorships to ticket sales to athletic endeavours will experience a significant uptick.

Ronaldo’s move to PSG can’t be completely ruled out, even though the summer transfer market is still open. The club would first need to persuade Messi to make the switch, since the idea of losing the Argentine is not one the managers would be happy with.
