Blanca Arellano: A 51-year-old woman from Mexico travelled 3,000 kilometres to Peru for a date, but she had no idea that this would turn out to be a nightmare after her mutilated body washed up on the shore.
At the end of July, Blanca Arellano informed her family that she would be travelling to Lima to see Juan Pablo Jesús Villafuerte, the man she had been communicating with virtually for a while. She was going to her boyfriend’s hometown, beach city of Huacho, according to her relatives.

From internet romance to love
Blanca Arellano informed her niece Karla Arellano during their farewell phone chat that the internet romance had worked out well for her and that she had even begun to feel a sense of love for the man.
Then, weeks passed before Blanca Arellano’s fantasy getaway turned into a terrifying plot, one that sent the Mexican woman’s family scrambling to find her.
Her niece’s November 12 post read on Twitter read, “I never thought I would be in this situation, but today I’m asking for your support to spread this post and find one of the most loved and important people of my life. My aunt Blanca Olivia Arellano Gutiérrez disappeared on Monday November 07 in Peru. We fear for her life.”

A severed finger with a silver ring was found in investigation
The worst was confirmed for the family of Olivia Arellano after an investigation into the disappearance of a Mexican woman in Peru turned up a severed finger with a silver ring still attached.
More remains were found in the days that followed, including a faceless head, an arm, and eventually a torso with all the internal organs washing up on the same beach in Huacho.
Juan Pablo Villafuerte was given a warrant for his arrest after it came to light that he had dissected Olivia Arellano’s organs.
