China: According to reports, China intends to send monkeys to its recently finished Tiangong space station in order to investigate how they develop and breed in zero gravity. According to South China Morning Post, the research would be carried out in a module of the Tiangong space station.
The story quoted Zhang Lu, a researcher at the Chinese academy of sciences in Beijing, as saying, “These investigations will help increase our understanding of an organism’s adaptation to microgravity and other space settings.”

Challenges for the scientists
Scientists will have to concentrate on how to keep the monkeys in close touch in the new space environment because they are larger animals, making it difficult to study monkey reproduction in zero gravity.
According to the report, scientists believe that feeding the monkeys during the study time and handling their faeces would be huge issues.
The paper also noted that it would be challenging for the monkeys to remain stress-free and at ease in their space station habitats.
