NASA: Another new discovery has appeared on NASA’s website. The James Webb Telescope has revealed a buried treasure and added a new layer to the Carina Nebula. The high-tech space telescope discovered enthralling images of cosmic cliffs, and scientists are awestruck by this newly discovered treasure trove of cosmos science.

These images were shared by NASA’s official Instagram account, which has over 1.5 million likes.
The Hubble Space Telescope has previously observed this region of the universe, but Webb’s infrared eyes allow it to see through clouds of dust and gas for the first time, revealing dozens of energetic jets of material blasting forth from the young stars.
“Jets like these are signposts for the most exciting part of the star formation process. We only see them during a brief window of time when the protostar is actively accreting,” University of Arizona researcher Nathan Smith explained in a statement.
Scientists dug deep into the data and discovered a hotbed of young stars in an elusive stage of development. This discovery may aid in our understanding of how stars like our Sun form, as well as how radiation from nearby massive stars may influence the formation of planets.

Cosmic Cliffs
Webb’s infrared instruments were pointed at the so-called “Cosmic Cliffs” within the massive Carina Nebula, specifically the star cluster NGC 3324. The resulting images were among the first observations made by the brand new telescope in July, but researchers have now done a deeper analysis of the data and discovered a crop of newborn stars in a rarely seen stage of development.
