No right to lecture us: Russia to US after Putin-Kim meet

Russia, China

Russian officials claimed that the United States was acting hypocritically by criticising Vladimir Putin’s meeting with Kim Jong Un while simultaneously sowing turmoil and arming allies around the globe.

“The United States has no right to lecture us on how to live,” Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, said in a statement.

The US and its allies are concerned about Kim and Putin’s growing affinity. Washington has accused North Korea of supplying Russia with armaments, although it is unclear whether any actual supplies have taken place.

According to Antonov, the US has established a coalition in Asia, increased military exercises close to the Korean peninsula, and is giving Ukraine billions of dollars’ worth of arms. “It is time for Washington to throw its economic sanctions into the rubbish dump,” Antonov said. “Maintaining the unipolar dominance so beloved by American officials is no longer possible.”
