54 Nobel Prizes in Economic Sciences awarded over the years
There have been 54 Nobel Prizes in Economic Sciences awarded over the years, from 1969 to 2022. 25 of the 92 laureates have had an honour of being the only recipients of this prestigious award. Only two women have ever received the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for their outstanding contributions: Elinor Ostrom in 2009 and Esther Duflo in 2019. Goldin is currently recognised as the third woman in this industry.
The final announcement of the year in the discipline of Economic Sciences marked the conclusion of the Nobel Prize 2023 announcements, which began on October 2. These most recent honours come after those in the last week in the fields of medicine, physics, chemistry, literature, and peace.
