Barrack Obama:Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has attacked Barrack Obama’s remark in which the former US president said India might pull apart.
Mr Singh while addressing a meeting in Jammu said, “Obama ji should not forget that India is the only country which considers all the people living in the world as family members… He should also think about himself as to how many Muslim countries he has attacked.”
Barrack Obama said, “India may start ‘pulling apart’ if its government does not protect the rights of ethnic minorities.” The former president also said that if a US president meets PM Modi then “the protection of Muslim minority in a Hindu-majority India” needs mentioning. Obama was speaking to Christine Amanpour of CNN in Athens.
Mr Modi was visiting the United States when Barrack Obama made these remarks.
On Sunday. Nirmal Seetharaman attacked Obama over his remarks on Muslims in India. She said that as president, he bombed six Muslim-dominated countries. “More than 26,000 bombs were dropped…how will people trust his words?”, the finance minister added.

PM Modi and President Joe Biden answered a press conference in Washington last week. One of the questions that Mr Modi was related to the security of Muslims in India.

Democracy is in our spirit & we live it and it’s written in our Constitution…So no question of discrimination on the grounds of caste, creed or religion arises. That is why, India believes in sabkasaath, sabkavikas, sabkavishwas, sabkaprayaas and walks ahead with it..,” Mr Modi answered.
Muslim outreach
As prime minister, Mr Modi has reached out to Muslims and other religions in various ways. Recently, he visited the Al-Hakim mosque in Egypt which has been repaired with funds from the Dawoodi Bohra community.
