Operation Ajay: In response to ongoing conflicts between Israel and Hamas, the inaugural charter flight under ‘Operation Ajay’ successfully transported 212 Indian nationals back to Delhi. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekar welcomed the passengers, including 211 adults and an infant, who expressed their gratitude to the Indian government for their safe return.
“This is the first time that we are facing this situation over there. We are very thankful to the Indian government, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing us back. We are hoping for peace as soon as possible so that we can go back to work as earliest as possible,” the passenger told media.
“On the first day, we were sleeping and at around 6.30 there was a siren. We ran towards the shelter and it was very hard but we managed. We are feeling relaxed and we thank the Government of India,” another person told media.
Registration Drive:
The operation, initiated after multi-pronged attacks in Israel, aims to bring peace and security to the region. The passengers were chosen through a registration drive organized by the Indian embassy, with the government covering their return expenses. A second flight has been scheduled, ensuring the safe repatriation of Indian citizens affected by the conflict.
