Pakistan: A market in the Balochistan province of Pakistan was rocked by an explosion on Sunday morning, leaving at least four people dead and 10 injured. According to Barkhan Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Khoso, the blast was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) that had been planted on a motorcycle in the Rakhni market area. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, while the police cordoned off the area to conduct further investigations.

Unverified videos circulating on social media show volunteers carrying bloodied victims away from the scene, with mangled motorcycles and charred vegetables strewn across the road. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo condemned the attack and urged the authorities to arrest those responsible. The minister stated that the government would adopt an effective counter-terrorism strategy to prevent such incidents in the future.

Bizenjo also directed officials to provide the best medical care to the injured and prayed for the high ranks of the deceased. The Balochistan province has witnessed a spate of violent incidents in recent months, including bombings and targeted attacks, raising concerns about public safety and prompting heightened security measures.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his condemnation of the blast and asked for a report from the chief minister. The incident is yet another tragic reminder of the ongoing security challenges facing Pakistan and the need for sustained efforts to maintain law and order.
