Pakistan: During the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf party’s “Long March” in Gujranwala on Thursday, a shooter opened fire at Imran Khan’s container, injuring him and sending him to the hospital. According to Dawn News, the firing left several persons injured, among them PTI leader Faisal Javed. Khan is safe, according to sources who have confirmed the arrest of the assailant.
Imran Khan was shot “three to four” times in the leg, party leader Imran Ismail claimed in an interview with Dawn. He claimed that the assailant was holding an AK-47 and was standing precisely in front of the container.

Imran was hurt and taken to a car with the assistance of other persons present at the scene, according to television footage seen on numerous Pakistani media networks. The Khan’s leg may be seen with a bandage around it in the videos.

Khan said, “God has blessed me a new life, will fight back with all of my strength,” in the moments following the attack, assuring his safety.
Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, learned of the occurrence, denounced the shooting, and also called for a report on it.
Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi took note of the shooting event and gave the province IGP instructions to conduct a comprehensive inquiry before submitting a report.
According to a story in Dawn, the Chief Minister stated, “Those responsible for this tragedy will be promptly brought to justice and the injured will be given the greatest medical care.”
