Interestingly, Pollard, who was playing for the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), abandoned the competition in the middle to attend an event in Jamnagar, Gujarat, India. Previously linked to Reliance Industries Limited, the home of Mukesh Ambani’s Mumbai Indians, Pollard is currently a member of the franchise’s SA20 and ILT20 teams in the United Arab Emirates. Not just him, but a number of other players connected to MI teams in T20 competitions worldwide were also there.

International Cricket Stars at Ambani Celebration

At the Jamnagar event were Tim David, Trent Boult, Dwayne Bravo, Rashid Khan, Sam Curran, and Nicholas Pooran. Among the Indian attendees at the celebration were Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Zaheer Khan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ishan Kishan. Fans responded to Pollard’s decision to withdraw from a competition midway with their video, which went viral. But Pollard won’t miss a match because he’s scheduled to return on Sunday, March 3, when the Karachi Kings play the Multan Sultans.

Pakistani People Reaction

One person said, “This is the status of our PSL. Of course they should give more money but the status of PSL has shown that PSL people are not giving that much money. I, the batsman from Karachi, left PSL and went to Ambani’s wedding.” Another person said, “Whoever plays IPL will progress, except our own Babar Azam, no other player has been able to do better.”
