Pakistani People React to S Jaishankar Pakistan Visit: India and Pakistan have had a strained relationship for decades. There have been few opportunities for diplomatic dialogue. However, Pakistan is currently buzzing with excitement. India’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, is set to visit the country for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. This summit is scheduled for October 15-16. This visit marks a significant milestone. It will be the first time in nearly nine years that an Indian minister is stepping foot on Pakistani soil.
Pakistani videos capturing people’s reactions to this momentous occasion have been going viral. Many individuals have expressed their hopes for improved relations between India and Pakistan. Some even voiced disappointment that Prime Minister Narendra Modi isn’t making the trip. Let’s dive into the Pakistani reactions to S Jaishankar’s upcoming visit to Pakistan.
Pakistani People React to S Jaishankar Visiting Pakistan, Video Goes Viral
A viral video posted by popular Pakistani YouTuber Sohaib Chaudhary on his channel ‘Real Entertainment TV’ captured candid street interview with Pakistani citizens about S Jaishankar’s visit. One of the people interviewed voiced a concern regarding the slogans often heard at the airport during visits of Indian dignitaries. He said, “Let’s hope ke iss baar airport par aise naare na lagein jaise ‘Jo Hindustan ka yaar hai, gaddar hai’ ya ‘Jo Modi ka yaar hai, gaddar hai.’ Hum pehle Hindustan ka mukhalfat karte rahe hain.”
Pakistanis Want Friendship With India
In a hopeful twist, the same Pakistani individual expressed his desire for a more peaceful approach, stating, “Iss baar naare different hone chahiye. Main khud wahan khada honga, bhai jaan, aur main khud ye naara lagaunga ke humein dushmani bilkul nahi chahiye. Humein Hindustan ke saath dosti chahiye.”
Respect for S Jaishankar in Pakistani Videos
The Pakistani man went on to praise India’s External Affairs Minister, calling him a capable and intelligent leader. “Dr. Jaishankar koi chhota naam nahi hai; woh Vajpayee nahi hain. Tum khud jaan jaoge. Woh bahut zaheen aur kaabil insaan hain.” He added that once Pakistanis see Jaishankar speaking at a press conference, they will realize the importance of this visit.
PM Modi’s Absence Disappoints Pakistanis
The conversation then turned to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the Pakistani citizen expressing his disappointment that Modi isn’t attending the SCO summit. “Mere dil ki khwahish yeh thi ke Prime Minister Narendra Modi Pakistan aate aur bade acche talaqat ho jaate.”
He went on to say, “Lekin badnaseebi hamari ke Prime Minister Narendra Modi Pakistan nahi aaye. Lekin phir khushnaseebi hai hamari ke Dr. Jaishankar Pakistan aa rahe hain.” While there’s a sense of missed opportunity with PM Modi’s absence, the Pakistani public is still optimistic about Jaishankar’s visit to Pakistan.
