Passenger plane crashes into Lake Victoria in Tanzania, 23 rescued

A passenger plane crashed on Sunday in Lake Victoria, Tanzania. So far 23 people are reported to have been rescued. Videos and photos of the incident on social media showed the plane nearly submerged in the waters of Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake.

According to the report of BBC News Africa, 49 passengers were on board the plane going from Mwanza to Bukoba and so far 23 have been rescued.

Precision Air, Tanzania’s largest privately owned airline, identified the plane as flight PW 494 and said it was involved in the accident because It was approaching Bukoba airport.
